In the
present age it is a very rare thing for a person to live 100 years, yet that
was the age of a Reno County citizen who passed away yesterday evening. His
name was Thomas Mullen and he was the father of Mrs. James Holland. He had been
making his home at the Holland farm south of the old fair grounds. If Mr.
Mullen had lived but an average life he would have been laid in his last
resting place almost fifty years ago, before the most remarkable and
progressive half century this world has ever known.
He leaves
two daughters living in this vicinity, Mrs. James Holland southwest of this city,
and Mrs. J. W. Cross of Seventh Avenue East. The end of his long life came
yesterday evening at 4 o’clock and the funeral was held this morning at 10
o’clock from St. Teresa’s Church.
