Elder J.
M. Hawley, a pioneer preacher of the Christian Church, passed away at 8 o’clock
this morning at the residence of his son-in-law, J. M. Rankin, in this city at
309 Fourth Avenue East. Mr. Hawley has been visiting his daughters, Mrs. J. M.
Nowell and Mrs. Rankin, for some time past, his home being at Odin, Illinois.
The funeral will be held from the Christian Church at 3 o’clock Sunday
afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Professor Aten.
